January 1, 2013:
Happy New Year! We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL after a one hour delay in Dallas/Ft. Worth. So the first leg of our journey is complete and it is 9 pm here. We get up at 3 am to
go to the airport to fly into Haiti (6:15 am flight). Thanks for all your prayer support thus far in this journey. Next update will be around Jan. 3rd. So check back then. God
bless you all!
January 3rd:
We have settled into the Haiti life and have had some great opportunities to minister to the needy in this wonderful place. The needs are overwhelming and seem insurmountable from a human standpoint. But as we focus on the true needs of the people, not a new house or car, but clean water, food, and Jesus, it becomes a bit more doable. More on that when we return to the USA. I am not sure if I will be able to get into the internet again before we leave, so here are a few things to pray about with us.
1 - Pray for the staff here at NWHCM. Melonie who has been a missionary here for a number of years, and has been the coordiantor for the prison ministry, has had several physical attacks this past year (Malaria, fibromialgia, denge fever). Pray that she would be totally healed and retored to full health and ministry.
2 - Funds for the repair of the well drilling rig.
3 - Funds for the overall programs of the mission, and certain sund shortages.
4 - And of course the people and churches of Haiti.
Below are a few pictures from a couple of feeding programs here at NW Haiti Christian Ministries: (Sorry - internet here cannot handle pictures)
January 7th:
We are back to the Port au Prince Airport waiting for our flight back to the USA. It has been an awesome time here in Haiti with the usual mixed feelings about going home and wanting to stay longer. We appreciate your prayers during this journey and appreciate your continued prayers as we re-enter the American culture and try to assimilate all that we saw, heard, smelled and experienced. I will try to download a few pics here at the airport where we might have better connections. God bless you.
January 7th pm:
We arrived in Tucson around 10:00 p.m. and then drove back to Hereford (1 1/2 hours). We have been revisiting all the sites, sounds, smells, new friends, etc. We are so
thankful for so many wonderful friends who have been a part of this great missions adventure. What a blessing you are!
UPCOMING HAITI TRIPS
Refuge Christian Ministries International organizes an annual short-term missions trip to NW Haiti Christian Mission every year. It's always a special time with lots of new faces to meet and talk to. NWHCM provides an opportunity to really see missions first hand with so many choices of ministry available. There is literally a place for everyone from youth to elderly; individuals and whole families. Plus, you will be part of a team of over 50-100 team members from all over the USA. Many have been traveling to Haiti every year for many years. What a great opportunity to pick someone's brain who has been involved in missions for a number of years. If you have ever thought about going on a mission trip, we highly recommend this opportunity. The cost is affordable requiring minimal fundraising, the location is not far away, and the the ministry choices are vast. Pray and consider joining with us on the next trip to Haiti.
DATES: JANUARY 1-7, 2013 (NOW CLOSED)
NEXT TRIP: Possibly October 2013

KENYA
Refuge Christian Ministries Intl joined with Crossroads Outreach Ministries Intl on a ST missions trip to Kenya October 4-21, 2011. This trip was a very busy trip, but also very rewarding with some great ministry and training left behind that provided encouragement to the pastors and the people. We also visited two orphanges where we encouraged the children to realize God's plan for their lives. We were also able to bless both orphanges with needed supplies that your financial support of the team made possible. God bless you for helping these young ones through your faithful giving.
STATISTICS:
For those who like statistics, here you go:
The team preached to and ministered to over 3,500 people
The team provided vocational training to 201 pastors in several classes
The team ministered to approximately 400 orphans and approximately 50 orphanage workers in two orphanages
We purchased supplies and equipment (from your donations) for both orphanages
ALL of this was only possible because YOU supported us with your prayers and finances. You were there right beside us and will share in the eternal rewards from the results of the ministry that happened because of your participation. Thanks and God bless you!!!
NOW WHAT?
Keep the country of Kenya in your prayers. Pray for VOSH churches and Ebenezer Life Centre as they continue to proclaim the good news of the gospel to the nation of Kenya and to the orphans and widows.
Also, pray for the R.O.C.K. ministry as they continue to move forward with their dream of a children's village in the Malava area. To learn more about R.O.C.K. you can visit their website at: www.rockministriesinternational.org .
There is also a link on our LINK page.
Here are a few pictures to give you a taste of the trip. God bless you for being our support and encouragement. Place your cursor over the picture and it will give you a description of the picture. Also, if you double click on the first picture, they will fill your screen as a slide show. ENJOY!
Refuge CMI has taken ST missions groups to Naco, Sonora and Guaymas, Sonora when requested. When a need is presented, it becomes a matter of prayer, and a ST team is assembled to travel to Mexico, as the Lord provides.
