About Refuge Christian Ministries International
Refuge Christian Ministries International was founded by Dr. Paul & Marcy Olson in 2003 after a short-term missions trip to Kenya and Uganda. The Olsons believed God was calling them to reach out to the orphans and street children in these countries, as they had been doing in the USA through Kids Crusades. That calling continued when they returned to Kenya in 2004 and conducted street childrens crusades, funded a water project for an orphanage, provided training to school teachers, and conducted Pastors' Vocational Classes. While the calling has not changed, the projects and expanded reach certainly has over the years. Refuge CMI provides children's clothing to Haiti, Mexico, the Appalachians, and locally; they have provided food boxes locally and participated in feeding programs in Kenya and Haiti; they have added training to include preparation for missions work for ST missions teams, training in recognizing your spiritual ministry gifts, training of national workers in Kenya and Haiti, and others as well.
Every year they put together ST Mission teams to Haiti and Mexico. In 2013 they are planning to add US Indian reservations in the Southwest USA and the Appalachian Mountain area in the eastern USA where poverty is rampant, and the spiritual need is great. * That indigenous pastors and workers receive ministry training to better equip them to reach their communities and nation
* That orphans have shelter, a bed to sleep in, and safe drinking water
* That the Church in America catch the vision and heart of God to reach their communities and the nations for Christ through their support and participation in missions activities and outreaches
